Miley Cyrus Wings Away to New Movie, Possible Franchise

Miley Cyrus has signed on for a fourth season of Hannah Montana. But the actress is clearly eyeing big screen stardom away from the Disney Channel, as she's lined up a pair of major movie projects.

She's currently filming The Last Song, a romantic film written specifically for Miley by beloved author Nicholas Sparks.

Now, reports indicate that Cyrus will take the lead in Wings, a fantasy adventure based on a novel by Aprilynne Pike.

In the movie, Cyrus will play Laurel, a 15-year-old girl that can't exactly fit into life in a city. The reason? She's a fairy.

Wings is actually the first book in a four-book set. As evidenced by the basic cover above - as well as the author quoted on it - the series of novels is often compared to the Twilight Saga.

Based on the excitement already generated over New Moon and the subsequent movies in that franchise, it's scary to think about the craziness that would erupt if Cyrus stars in an equally popular string of films.

Can the world handle it?

Police: Sahel Kazemi Killed Steve McNair, Then Herself

Air McNairSahel Kazemi Pic

Police in Nashville, Tenn., say their investigation of former NFL star Steve McNair's murder "clearly points to a murder-suicide" at the hands of Sahel Kazemi.

Medical examiner Dr. Feng Li says preliminary test results conducted in the football player's death show his girlfriend fired the gun that killed both of them.

Feng conducted autopsies on the bodies of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi, and is able to make the determination from the crime scene investigation, police interviews, the autopsy findings and preliminary lab results, including a gun residue test.

Moreover, police have now revealed the following:

  • Sahel Kazemi told friends her life was "all messed up" and she was "going to end it all" before the incident early July 4.
  • Kazemi was stressed out - she had two car payments, her roommate was moving out and she recently began thinking McNair was seeing someone else (he was actually married, since 1997, to Mechelle McNair, and had four kids).
  • The shell casings match the weapon purchased by herthe same week of the shootings and there was trace evidence on her left hand.
The lack of struggle, Steve's position on the couch and the trajectory of the bullet leads police to believe that McNair was "likely asleep" on the couch when he was shot four times (once at point blank range) and killed.

Paris Jackson Cries, Expresses Love For Father Michael

"I just wanted to say ... ever since i was born, daddy has been the best father ... you could ever imagine. And I just wanted to say I love him ... so much."

With these words just moments ago, Michael Jackson's daughter Paris spoke at the end of his memorial service, providing its most touching moment and best quote.

Flanked by Michael Jackson's brothers and his sister Janet Jackson, 11-year-old Paris took the microphone, voice trembling, and bid farewell to her dad.

Here's the video of Paris Jackson's poignant goodbye ...

Micheal Jackson's Funeral Set For Tuesday

Assuming the plans don't change again, Michael Jackson's private family memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn in L.A.

Immediately after, a motorcade will then go to the Staples Center complex in downtown LA where the public memorial for him will be held.

The family still hasn't decided whether the public memorial for Michael Jackson will be at the Staples Center or the smaller Nokia Theatre.

A decision on that is expected shortly. There has also been no decision yet on the allocation of tickets to the service, which should be in high demand.

As we reported earlier, the original venue, Neverland, was scratched.

Lots of crazy rumors are going around regarding Michael Jackson's funeral, and the family itself has issued contradictory statements, but we believe this to be the plan, based on the latest reports. More details to come soon, hopefully.
